    120(116) - 0, 141(109)-0, 72(61)-1, 91(91)-16, 73(67)-0, 65-54

Frame 14: A clearance of 39, that in any ordinary circumstances would be fairly routine, but to win your first ranking title, that was something special.  Ali Carter has just produced one of the best final sessions of a final for a long time.

Frame 13: Carter continues where he left off. He needed two chances this time.  Second chance though brought a perfectly constructed run of 67.

Frame 12: Joe breaks down on 16 and Carter is away again.  Immaculate positional play and a superb 91 break gives him all four frames in this session. 424 points against 17. One way traffic at the moment.

Frame 11:  Swail gets off the mark.  That's the good news.  Bad news, he fails to pot a colour and after rolling in a long red, Carter continues his relentless scoring with a break of 61 to clinch the first three frames and take the lead in the match for the first time.

Frame 10: An opening break of 32 followed by a good safety shot opened up the chance for Carter.  A quick fire clearance and back-to-back centuries. 261 unanswered points this evening.

Frame 9: A flying start for the Captain.  A break of 116 following a foul by Swail and Ali looks like a different player to this afternoon.

Frame 8: Carter gets in first and makes 54 before a thumping kick robs him of position, but a good long red enables him to close out the frame. The evening session starts at 19.00GMT.

Frame 7: Swail has carved out a three frame lead now. Nothing spectacular in the frame. Joe opened with 40, Carter took a red but didn't get a colour and now he desparately needs to win the last frame of this afternoon's session.

Frame 6: Swail nearly blew his chance of opening a two frame lead. He missed the last red when in the balls on 43 and had to suffer as Carter bossed the safety. But he gratefully sank the pink and at worst will be level ahead of tonight's final session.

Frame 5: Joe Swail makes a mid-frame 49 before over-cutting a red. Carter couldn't build a come back so Swail regains the lead.

Frame 4: Again both players spurned chances. Swail made 43 before missing a yellow. Carter couldn't punish him and Swail cleared to pink with 60.

Frame 3: Fortunes fluctuated throughout the frame until a safety error by Swail let Carter in to take the last two reds and make a 44 clearance

Frame 2: Carter laid a snooker, Swail left the chance and Ali proceeded to produce a frame-winning 89 break

Frame 1: A slightly nervous start by both players. Carter was unlucky to knock a red in when splitting the pack. They both missed a couple before Joe made 40 to secure the frame.
