John Higgins was the Player of the 2008/09 Season with victories in both the World Championship and Grand Prix, plus a runner's-up spot in China.
Shaun Murphy started the season badly with first round defeats in the first four events. He turned it all around though with a win at the UK Championship and finishing runner-up to Higgins in the Wolrd Championship.
Ricky Walden and Allister Carter lifted their maiden ranking trophies in Shanghai and Wales, Walden moving up 15 places in the world rankings in the process.
Ronnie O'Sullivan was dissapointing by his high standards but still recorded wins in Northern Ireland, The Premier League and The Masters.
