Pontin's - Working with Global Snooker
Global-snooker.com works in conjunction with Pontin's to bring you all the news, results, photographs and records from the great range of Snooker events held at the Centre of Excellence at Pontin's Prestatyn Sands Holiday Centre.
Pontin's has supported snooker for more than thirty years, with its famous Spring and Autumn Festivals, Juniors Events, the Home Internationals and now all players can compete in Pontin's fabulous new purpose-built Snooker venue.
Developed in association with World Snooker, the venue provides the highest standard of facilities available anywhere in the world, with tournament tables, match cloths, tv style lighting, tiered seating, monitor style scoreboards, players' lounge and more.
In 2004-5 Pontin's launched two new series of events - the Pontin's Under 21 and the Pontin's Pro-Am series.
Leaders of the rankings at the end of the season gained selection to Pontin's own teams, who now participate in various international and challenge events.
Pontin's are still developing the centre and will have more new facilities in place in 2009. Add to that all the usual accommodation and leisure facilities and Pontin's is THE place to play snooker.
Starting in May 2005 the new Pontin's International Open Series (PIOS), in conjunction with World Snooker brought a brand new series of high quality open events to Pontin's.
Open to all players, from anywhere in the world, not on the Professional Main Tour, the PIOS is not only a series of high quality events, but also provides a direct path to professional qualification, with the eight leading players gaining promotion to the 2009-10 Main Tour.
