• Taylor Beats Snooker Record

Liverpool’s Allan Taylor won the first Level 2 ONEFORSEVEN satellite event at The Q Bar in Chester beating the current world record by 12 points.

Wales’ Andrew Pagett set the mark at 558 in the first ONEFORSEVEN event earlier this week.

Taylor made a highest break of 105 in the opening frame against Richard Remelie and never looked back on his way to securing his place in the Level 1 qualifier next weekend.

The win took Taylor, a step closer to the ONEFORSEVEN finals in Cardiff on December 21 with a total prize pot of £25,000 up for grabs.

Remelie eventually finished in second place and along with local boy, Jack Bradford who finished third earn a place in the next Level 2 event in Chester.

Taylor had virtually secured his win with the last frame remaining, but just 40 points separated the next four places.

Club owner and manager of Ricky Walden, Lee Gorton was in contention for a while but fell away at the end.

Brian Morgan, not the former professional was the strongest player in the field, holding up the rest of the players in eighth.

Level 2 satellite qualifying events next weekend will be held at Darren Morgan’s Red Triangle in South Wales (Saturday) and at the Q Bar in Chester (Sunday).
