Mifsud lands ONEFORSEVEN title Down Under
Former IBSF world champion, Steve Mifsud came out on top in the 2010 Victorian Invitational Masters in Frankston.
Using Global Snooker’s ONEFORSEVEN format, Mifsud outscored the rest of the eight-man field with a total of 504 to lift the title sponsored by Red Rooster.
He beat his younger brother, James into second place by 55 points with Aaron Mahoney nine points further back in third.
Former tour professional and world billiards champion, Robby Foldvari finished in fifth place with a seven round total of 375.
Foldvari is not renowned for his speed of play and might not be best suited to a format with a time limit but the feedback from him and his fellow players was generally positive towards this new format.
Tournament organiser, Mark Dunn said “We are trying to build on Neil's success in the world championship and make the game more popular in Australia. The tournament went extremely well and all reports have been very complimentary, especially in regard to the OFS format”.
