Cool Hand Luca
Fourteen-year-old Belgian sensation, Luca Brecel has become the youngest ever winner of the European Under-19 Championship in St.Petersburg, Russia.

Every now and again, a special talent comes along. Global-snooker.com have been aware of Luca Brecel for a few years, and now he has turned potential into a winning reality.
European Billiards and Snooker Association events are not easy to win. They are long by comparison with most junior and amateur events. Therefore, stamina is needed in abundance as well as the obvious talent.
At 14, Brecel seems to have it all. He reached the final in style with a 135 break in the clinching frame against, England's Jack Lisowski.
England's hopes of a champion were dashed further in the final when the Belgian took the deciding frame against Michael Wasley.
Fourteen is very young to make wild claims about future achievements, but the likes of Ronnie O'Sullivan, John Higgins, Mark Williams all had a certain 'look' about them at a smiliar stage in their development. Does Luca have the same 'look'? Yes he does. WIll he follow in their footsteps? That we don't know, so watch this space!
