World Series of Snooker 2009/10
Shaun Murphy starts the new season where he left the old one, with victory in a World Series of Snooker Event.
Following his win at the Grand Final of the first WSoS series in Portugal, Murphy beat Jimmy White in the final of this year's first Sportingbet.com World Series of Snooker in Killarney.
After a convincing five-nil win in his opener he beat world champion, John Higgins for the seond time since losing to the Scot on the Crucible final a fortnight ago.
The 'Whirlwind', not a regular finalist nowadays, earned his spot with wins over Irish duo, amateur Jason Devaney and former world champion, Ken Doherty.
The semi-final against Doherty produced a thrilling finish as White nicked a 5-4 win in the deciding frame.
