World Series Goes Green
The World Series of Snooker goes green as it moves to the ‘Emerald Isle’ next month.
The Champion of Champions Challenge will be held at the INEC, Gleneagle Hotel, Killarney on Saturday and Sunday, 16th and 17th May.
Televised live by Eurosport, The Champion of Champions Challenge will see former world champions, John Higgins MBE, Ken Doherty and Shaun Murphy and ‘Peoples Champion’, Jimmy White MBE, compete for the title.

They will be joined by the top four players on the Irish under 19 ranking list. Tony Moore, Jason Devaney, Andrew Grey and Greg Casey (pictured) make up the eight players.
The four ‘amateurs’ will each play a professional in the Quarter-finals, over the best of seven frames. The Semi-finals will be the best of nine frames and the Final best of eleven frames.
Jason Devaney can't wait. "It's so exciting for us to play in an event like this. It's also a wonderful opportunity to play the leading professionals. We're all thrilled!"
The head referee for the event will be Jan Verhaas, assisted by Ireland’s own Patricia Murphy.
There will be a Pre-tournament VIP reception and a post tournament champion’s reception.
Also, a feature of the week-end will be a clinic in the "Snooker-zone", where members of the public will get tips on how to improve their game. The clinic will be hosted by Irelands head snooker coach, PJ Nolan, who will be assisted by the each of the four professionals.
The World Series has held events in the UK, Germany, Poland, Russia and Portugal since its launch in 2008.
