White Out At PTC
Jimmy White experienced the highs and lows of professional sport within a short space of time at the new Players Tour Championship, making a 143 total clearance on his way to a three-nil lead before losing four frames in a row, and the match to Stephen Craigie.

White, who had a private jet waiting on the tarmac to fly him to a Snooker Legends fixture, stormed ahead taking the opening frame in classic Whirlwind style with a break of 83, before adding the second with the 143, the highest of the tournament so far.
The third was more of a scrappy affair, which the 48-year-old took, although it seemed to take away some of his momentum.
Both players had chances in the fourth frame, but Craigie got off the mark before narrowing the deficit to just one frame by taking the fifth comfortably.
Again, White had chances to clinch the match in the next but failed to take them and Newcastle’s, Craigie levelled at 3-3.
A tight deciding frame saw both players making mistakes but it was the youngster that fell over the line on the colours to grab a place in round two against Norway’s Kurt Maflin.
The Norwegian made a maximum 147 break at the first PTC event last month beat Jake Nicholson by four-frames-to-nil.
Elsewhere, Greg Davis, son of six times world champion Steve, scored a hard fought 4-3 win over London’s Martin O’Donnell and set up an intriguing meeting with former UK Champion, Stephen Maguire.
