TCC Pro Am 2009 Announced
Global-Snooker is delighted to announce the return of the hugely popular T.C.C. Pro-Am for 2009.
The TCC has become ‘Summer Evening Snooker’ over the past decade, with many top players using it as either a season ending event or season opener.
The event breaks-off on June 25th and will run throughout the summer with play on each Thursday and Global-Snooker will be in Newport to bring you all the action.
This year’s field is as tough as ever with previous winners Mark Williams MBE, Darren Morgan, Ryan Day, Paul Davies and defending Champion Lee Walker being joined by the likes of Shanghai Masters winner Ricky Walden, Gerard Greene and Mark Davis.
In addition to the big names on show, the 24-man event gives local talent the chance to cause upsets In last year’s event, Darren Thompson beat Walden and then receiving 18 start against Day, made a 67 clearance to win the world number six had missed the eleventh red on a maximum.
Tournament Director, Alun Squire told Global-Snooker that the tournament has become part of the club’s annual activities. “It is hugely popular with the members and it also brings people in from all over the region to watch some great snooker in a more intimate environment than the major tournaments”, he said.
