Snooker Boys Given The Boot
IBSF World Champion, Alfie Burden who had a promising future as a professional footballer took to the pitch once again at The Celebrity Soccer Six held at Charlton Athletic's Valley Stadium in London.
He was joined by fellow snooker professionals, Ken Doherty, Mark Williams, Mark King. They made up a 'coalition' team with the band, Kid British, appropriately named Snooker 6 & Kid British!

Snooker 6's first opponents were The Infidels, a team of comedians led by 'Three Lions' David Baddiel and Omid Djalil team. The final whistle closed a less than funny result for the snooker boys as they lost 2-1.
In their second game, The Snooker 6 faced a team of actors from BBC Drama,Waterloo Road. The result was a bette one as the Snooker boys won 6-1, with two goals from Williams and another from Doherty, with plenty of skill from Burden and nothing much getting past King, The Warrior!
In the third game The Sun newspaper fielded a few ex professional players who ran out deserved six nil winners. There was a 'bust up' between Burden and Olly Murs after the X-Factor finalist mistimed a couple of challenges. Burden squared up to him and had to be pulled apart by the ref! Murs apologised after the game and they posed for a piture together.
The X-Factor team went on to beat The Sun in the final.
The snooker boys played some great football and have been asked back next year to the event in aid of The Samaritans.
