McGill Plays Star Role
Anthony McGill continued his impressive start to his debut season and was the star of the show on the opening day of the second Star Xing Pai Players Tour Championship event in Sheffield.

After reaching the last 32 in the first PTC event, McGill went one better this time around.
The Scottish teenager produced a scintillating display of scoring in his three matches, dropping just three frames on his way to securing a place in Sunday’s last 16.
In the opening frame of the day, he made an impressive break of 110 on his way to a 4-1 win over Londoner, Sam Harvey.
In round two he faced seasoned campaigner, Jimmy Michie. The early exchanges were shared but at 1-1, McGill turned up the heat and ran out a comfortable 4-1 winner, notching up his second century of the day (104).
The best was yet to come though as McGill outscored his opponent 369 to 138 making breaks of 86,93 and 127, his third century of the day.
He will now face the number two seed, Stephen Maguire for a place in the last eight on Sunday morning.
