Liam Flies High
Liam Highfield caused an upset at the second Players Tour Championship I Sheffield by beating Judd Trump to earn a place in the last 16 on Sunday.

The talented 19-year-old who finished second on last season’s PIOS Tour to earn a crack at the big names, took his chances, making breaks of 59,89 and 91 to win four-frame-to-two.
Highfield, from Stoke-on-Trent, was delighted with his win, which avenged the defeat by Trump at the first PTC event last month.
He told Global-Snooker.com, “I think losing last time helped, His safety was so much better than mine, so I knew I had to improve that part of my game. I have worked hard on that over the last couple of weeks and it paid off today”.
“I think if I play like that tomorrow, I can go all the way but I will just be taking it one frame at a time”.
In the opening match of the day, Highfield found himself trailing against fellow ‘new-boy’ Adam Wicheard.
After being handed a lifeline at 3-2 and again when trailing by 47 with 51 remaining, he took his chance to steal a win and a second wind.
He said, “It is strange when you get away with something like I did against Adam. I just felt like I should have been out, which allowed me to loosen and just go for it”.
In round two, Highfield saw off the challenge of Leicester-based, Joe Jogia before ending the hopes of Judd who had earlier set the highest break of the tournament so far with a superb 144.
