Hull On Course For Return
Finland’s Robin Hull is just one match from gaining his Tour Card, almost 20 years after first competing on the professional circuit as the first event of World Snooker’s brand new Q School reaches a climax in Sheffield.

Hull, who won the world under-21 title in 1992, recorded wins against George Marter, Craig Barber, Craig Steadman and Gary Wilson to set up the Q School shoot-out match with David Gilbert.
The winner will become eligible to play alongside world champion John Higgins and world number one, Mark Williams on the 2011/12 circuit in events such as the Betfre.com world championship and Bank of Beijing China Open.
Gilbert, himself a former World Snooker Young Player of Distinction has lost his way in recent years and fell off the tour after this year’s world championship, will be looking to regain his place amongst the game’s elite.
124 hopefuls began Q School 1 last Wednesday and now just eight are left to fight it out for the four places available.
China has two representatives in the final round, with Chen Zhe taking on Bristol’s Andrew Norman and Leeds’ David Grace facing the ‘Mighty Mouse’, Anda Zhang.
In the other match, Scotland’s Fraser Patrick will take on Adam Wicheard.
For the losers, it will be back to square one as Q School 2 gets underway this week, with a further four places up for grabs.
