Higgins Suspended and Mooney Resigns
Following reports of alleged match fixing in the News of the World, world champion, the sports Chairman, Barry Hearn has taken immediate action and suspended John Higgins pending further investigation.
Higgins' manager also involved in the alleged fixing story, Pat Mooney has resigned from the Board of WPBSA with immediate effect.

Hearn, has shown strong leadership in taking swift action and speaking on Sky Sports News and Talksport he said, "Hell hath no fury like a chairman scorned and you haven't even begun to see the fury.
"I will not tolerate this. These are very serious allegations and involve the basic principle of fair play.
"I have never ever had one instance of a dart player not trying 100% every time, even if they were playing for £50.
"People like Phil Taylor and people like Steve Davis will safeguard their sport.
"Today and tomorrow belongs to Neil and little Dotty who's come back from lots of personal problems and is playing his socks off.
"Neil is a great advert for sport, he is a god given talent.
Regarding a suspension, I have to get advice on what I can and can't do under the constitution. You can't say someone is guilty until they're proven so.
We have David Douglas ex Scot Yard, on our disciplinary. He's a new boy on the job but we'll make an imediate decision within 24 hours on how to play it.
