• Ebdon’s Summer Signing

110SPORT’s summer signings are under way as they announce that 2002 world champion, Peter Ebdon has joined their management stable.

Ebdon is one of the most successful players in recent years and has won eight ranking titles during his career which started in 1991.  He returned to the winner’s circle in Beijing earlier this year when he beat world champion, John Higgins, in the final.

It was the 38-year-old's first ranking title for three years having won his last major honour when he beat 110sport stablemate, Stephen Hendry in the UK Championship final.

Ebdon's defining moment though, was when he won the coveted Crucible crown with a famous 18-17 win over Hendry in Sheffield.

He told Global-snooker.com, “I'd been offered a contract before the start of last season but the timing just wasn't right for me, due to on-going and changing family circumstances.  I am very much looking forward to concentrating on my Snooker again this season, something I've been unable to do for a couple of seasons now.

“Hopefully, I can work hard enough to deserve a return to the top 8 and I'm delighted to have 110 Sport representing me.

I believe that they'll do a very professional job and I very much look forward to working with them”.

A spokesman for 110sport commented: "We're delighted to have signed Peter Ebdon, a real gentleman on the snooker circuit and still one of the game's most popular characters.

"Peter has proven pedigree having won the World Championship and the UK Championship, it's great news that he has signed for the company."

Ebdon will start his new season when the Shanghai Masters breaks off in China in September.
