Davis Reaches Hundred Mark In Germany
World number 26, Mark Davis made the 100th century break of his career in his opening match in the first European Players Tour Championship in Germany during a four-frames-to-nil win over Wladimir Pondmarenkski in Fuerth.

The event formerly known as the Paul Hunter Classic is memory of the three-times Masters champion is the fifth event in Barry Hearn’s new 12-tournament series with the top 24 ranked players qualifying for the PTC finals next March.
Davis, part of the ON Q Promotions stable, eased past Pondmarenkski including the run of 117 and then followed up with a 4-1 win over another former Master, Matthew Stevens to reach the last 32 where he will face Wales’ Jamie Jones.
Jones had earlier disposed of fellow countryman and namesake Jak and Leeds prospect, David Grace both by a 4-1 score line.
Jimmy and Michael White continued to make progress by reaching the last 32.
The Whirlwind saw off the challenges of Michael Seidel and world number 31, Dave Harold to and will now face Craig Steadman, who caused an upset by beating Jamie Cope 4-3.
Meanwhile, Michael produced a scintillating brace of century breaks in his opening 4-0 win over Stefan Gerst followed with a 4-1 win against Northern Ireland’s Patrick Wallace.
White is one of a band of youngsters promising greatness in the world of snooker.
Scotland’s Anthony McGill won the all-teenage battle against Liam Highfield, while Jack Lisowski and Kyren Wilson won their two matches and will feature in the last 32.
World number six, Ryan Day’s miserable run of form continued as he lost in a final frame shoot-out with Joe Swail. The Belfast man went on to beat Scot, Alan McManus 4-1 and will face either Allan Taylor or Gerard Greene for a place in the last 16.
There were wins for Mark’s Selby and Williams who won the first two PTC events, but Event 3 and 4 victors, Tom Ford and Barry Pinches both crashed out in round one.
Other winners included Ricky Walden, Judd Trump and Peter Lines.
Saturday will see world champion, Neil Robertson and ‘The Rocket’, Ronnie O’Sullivan get their European campaigns underway.
Victory over Andy Hicks in round one will set up a re-match against Martin Gould who led the Australian 11-5 at the Crucible earlier this year before recovering to win 13-12.
O’Sullivan will play Jimmy Robertson after receiving a walk-over against China’s Yu Delu.
