Bingham Rocks Allen
Stuart Bingham produced one of the finest all-round displays to beat world number ten by five-frames-to-two in the first round of the Roewe sponsored Shanghai Masters.

The Essex professional, showed the kind of form that has made him one of the toughest opponents during qualifying rounds but has failed to deliver at the latter stages of tournaments on a regular basis.
Currently ranked 19 places below his Northern Irish opponent, Bingham opened with a superb 142 total clearance and doubled his lead with a break of 58.
Allen, a former world championship semi-finalist levelled at the interval with a best effort of 53, before Bingham eased over the line with frame winning breaks of 59, 65 and a further 59.
He will now face fellow Essex-man, Allister Carter or Dave Harold for a place in the quarter-finals.
