• Mixed Reports As Higgins Trial Begins

As the long-awaited hearing, into allegations of match-fixing brought John Higgins and former manager Pat Mooney, gets underway at an undisclosed London location, mixed reports are flying around in the media.

This is London and Sky sources reported at around 11am that the three-times world champion had admitted the charges placed before him, although both articles were later removed

A statement issued through the Press Association by Jim Cassidy, Higgins’ agent, claims the star’s 100% innocence.

Cassidy said, "The tribunal has just started," Jim Cassidy said. "John Higgins is 100% innocent of any aspect of match-fixing."

David Douglas, a former Metropolitan Police chief superintendent who joined the board of the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association in April, has led the investigation, while the planned two-day hearing is being hosted by Sport Resolutions, a London-based independent dispute resolution service.
