Davis In Amongst The Reds
What do Steve Davis, Nicole Kidman, Sir Winston Churchill, Paul Scholes and Napoleon Bonaparte all have in common?
The colour of their hair of course.
'Gingers' were celebrated recently in Jenny Wicks' stunning photographic tribute to a generic trait that is frequently talked about disappearing due to its recessive genes.
Over 70 redheads took part in the photographic study, which also looked at the social aspect of having red hair and more importantly how society views and treats people with it.
Davis himself was noted in his hey day for the colour of his hair and nicknamed the 'Ginger Magician'.
As well as featuring images of the amateur models, the exhibition included a list of famous redheads from way back in history (not you Steve!) to the present day.

Root Ginger: A Study of Red Hair by Jenny Wicks, was exhibited at Idea Generation Gallery, 11 Chance Street, London E2, 17 February - 1 March 2009.
