    Child protege, Brecel lived up to the hype.  He travlled to St. Petersburg to take on cream of European junior snooker.

    Former Paul Hunter scholar, Wells won an amazing three matches by ten frames to nine before losing a decider against Barry Hawkins to reach the televised stages.  That was enough to secure his place on tour for 2009/10 season.

    Stephen Hendry
    Seven times world champion became Max King Hendry the Ninth at Sheffield this year when he made his ninth tournament 147 against Shaun Murphy.

    Ricky Walden
    Walden started the season ranked number 35.  In Shanghai he beat messrs Hendry, Robertson, Davis, Selby before defeating Ronnie O'Sullivan in the final.  For good measure he sealed his first ranking win with a century break.
