| Match Notes: Frame 21. It's all over and Neil Robertson becomes the first Aussie to reach a World Semi Final since Eddie Charlton in 1982. Frame 20. A rare sight, Robertson missed a ball and Maguire stepped in with 71 to keep the match alive. Frame 19. Neil Robertson is playing superbly. Another great century puts him within a frame of his first Crucible semi-final. Frame 18. That was a lot better from Maguire. A classy run of 78 pegs the score back to 11-7 at the interval. Frame 17. The writing looks to be on the wall for a lack lustre Maguire. Robertson only made 38 to win that frame but he looks by far the more confident player now. Frame 16. Robertson concludes what would have been the final frame of the afternoon with a very healthy 10-6 lead. Can Maguire find an answer to the Aussie scoring power? Frame 15. Neil Robertson gets the evening under way with success in frame 15. That gives him a three frame lead now. Maguire needs to find his best form and quickly. To give the players a break between session, their match has been pulled off now and will resume at 19.00 Frame 14. Robertson moves further ahead. Again both players made 30s but this time it was Robertson who moved on to clinch the frame. Frame 13. Maguire steals a frame that looked to be Robertson's for the taking. They both made 33 before losing position and then Maguire nickedit on the colours. Frame 12. Robertson claims the frame to maintain his two frame lead at the interval. Frame 11. A missed red has cost Maguire the frame. Robertson countered with 65. Frame 10. That was a lot quicker. Maguire got in and closed out the frame at a single visit. And that century by Maguire breaks the all time Crucible record. That is ton number 69 this year. Frame 9. We haven't forgotten about this match. We've had 27 minutes play and all the reds are now safe in a cosy huddle on the top cushion. This could go on for hours. This is the sort of frame when the referee should step in and have a re-rack. It is not what the spectators pay their money to watch. 53 minutes play now in this frame and it should go to Maguire who's just potted the last red. Robertson played on but couldn't get the snooker and Maguire won the frame after 53 minutes. Frame 8. Maguire knock in 75, which is enough to earn him the last frame of the afternoon, but he trails 5-3. Frame 7. Another frame to Robertson, he's assured of leading overnight, after that 53 break. Frame 6. Robertson blasted through that frame, 98 puts him 2 ahead again. Frame 5. Maguire wins a scrappy fifth to close to 3-2 behind. Frame 4. Robertson has punished a miss by Maguire, firing in 105 to lead 3-1 at the interval. Frame 3. There were chances for both players in that frame. Maguire got in after snookering Robertson, but it's the Aussie to nips in to win it on the pink. Frame 2. Robertson quickly levels matters with a run of 76. Frame 1. Hello there, welcome back. Can this afternoon's matches produce the great drama we saw this morning when Stephen Hendry compiled both his and the Crucible's 9th Maximum 147 break. Not quite a 147, but Maguire is first into his stride with a run of 48 and that's enough to clinch the first frame. |
