     Match Notes:

Frame 24. It's all over for Hendry. A brilliant century break by Murphy clinches the match and he's through to the semi finals and the one table situation tomorrow.

Frame 23. Hendry digs very deep to fashion a brilliant 69 to keep himself in the match. Murphy had the first chance but lost position.

Frame 22. Murphy moves to within one of victory but again Hendry was unlucky. He got in when Murphy twitched a black early on. Hendry immediately split the pack but was left with a really tough red to the green bag. He played it dead weight and it appeared to drift a little and it hung in the jaws for Murphy. He then produced a superb 81 break.

Frame 21. Hendry pulls out a brilliant 80 break to close to only a frame behind. What a thriller we have now.

Frame 20. Oh what a massive frame for Hendry to pull out of the fire. He was 39 behind with two reds left, but Murphy missed the black and gave Hendry a lifeline. He got the last two reds, both off cushions with brilliant shots but lost position on the green. Eventually Murphy left the green on and Hendry took green to black to nick the frame by a point. It's the interval now, time for both players to gather their thoughts for the final dramatic frames.

Frame 19. A brilliant 73 break takes Murphy 11-8 ahead now and he's in sight of the winning line unless Hendry can produce a big fight back.

Frame 18. Hendry pulls a frame back but he nearly blew it again. He was on 37 when he missed a long blue, but this time he got another chance and took the last red ad colours.

Frame 17. Welcome to the final session of this match. Who is going to be the first man into the semi finals? Murphy takes a big stride forward taking a three frame lead now. Hendry was nicely set amongst the reds but he missed a routine pink to the corner and paid the price. Murphy had the luck though, fluking the frame ball.

Frame 16. Shaun Murphy rounds off his brilliant evening's work with another big break, 82. He's turned a 5-3 deficit into a 9-7 lead, with a barrage of superb breaks.

Frame 15. Hendry clinches the frame on the colours and now he's one behind with one left to play tonight.

Frame 14. There were so many twists and turns and misses in that frame it would take all night to describe them! However it's Murphy who nicks the frame on the black after a poor safety shot by Hendry.

Frame 13. For the first time tonight signs of an error from Murphy. He misses a black and Hendry runs in 51.

Frame 12. This is a remarkable performance by Murphy tonight. He's smashed in another 80 break and won all four frames up to the interval.

Frame 11. Murphy marches on. The long reds are disappearing and his break-building is superb tonight, he's turned the match right round now.

Frame 10. Murphy's good start continues, he's levelled the match with a classy run of 76.

Frame 9. As if this match could get much better, it does! Murphy starts the night with a superb 137 total clearance.

Frame 8. Hendry could be forgiven for not being fully focussed that frame. He left Murphy in and Shaun made 73 to reduce his deficit to 5-3 at the end of an exciting session.

Frame 7. Hendry is on a 147 attempt. He fired in a long red and is now on 73... 97 now and the last two reds are sitting nicely for him... 120 and he's perfect on the yellow... just blue to black to go now... great pink, it's a cut back black needed.. and it's there a fabulous 147 from Hendry and a nice £147,000 into the Scot's bank account.

Frame 6. That was a big frame for Murphy to win and he did it with a gutsy 61 clearance. Hendry missed an ambitious thin cut to the centre on 41 and then let Murphy in when he missed a plant.

Frame 5. Hendry moves further ahead. More unforced errors by Murphy both on pots and safety and Hendry ran in 49.

Frame 4. Hendry steals a frame that Murphy should have won. Hendry missed his colour off an opening red, Murphy stepped in with 61 but inexplicably missed the black off its spot, and it was frame ball. Hendry chipped in with 32 and then cleared from the last red to black to take a 3-1 lead.

Frame 3. Murphy missed on 42 but it took Hendry three visits to clinch the frame.

Frame 2. This IS going to be a superb match. Stephen Hendry, at his imperious best, strokes in a century to level.

Frame 1. Well if that frame is anything to go by we're in for a real treat in this match. Hendry opened with 47, but Murphy found a red and proceeded to clear with 78.
