• Six of the best by Ebdon

Peter Ebdon came from two frames down to beat Marco Fu 6-2 at the 2010 Pokerstars.com Masters in Wembley

After an appalling start in which Ebdon could have trailed 4-0 and should have trailed 3-1, the Londoner turned the match on its head after the interval winning six frames on the spin.

Marco Fu scrambled the first frame. He only made contributions of 27 and 24 but it was enough as Peter Ebdon struggled.

Fu increased his lead with a run of 59 in the second.

The Hong Kong star should have won the third. He opened with 42 before missing a brown and despite Ebdon missing the yellow, he carved another opening and snatched the frame on the black.

Again the odds Ebdon dragged himself level at the interval. Fu missed and left Ebdon amongst the balls and the 2009 China Open Champion obliged with 47 before against sneaking the frame on the black.

After the interval Fu's form completely disintegrated as Ebdon got stronger.

The former World Champion ran in 66 to take the lead.

Ebdon then made 63 to open a 4-2 gap and by this stage there looked like only being one winner.

Fu had a good opportunity in frame seven, but fluffed it on 29 and Ebdon cleared with 45.

And Ebdon saved the best until last, punching in a superb 93, hanging his head on the table when he missed the chance to finish with a century.

"Maybe it's because I'm a Londoner that I try too hard to win the Masters", asserted Ebdon.

"This is a premier tournament and you're playing all the top players and I'd love to win it."

"I think I dragged Marco down before the break, but after that I managed to find a bit more.

"I will need to improve if I'm to go any further in this tournament. It would be great to have won the 'big three'."
