• Maguire completes second round line up

Stephen Maguire beat Stephen Lee 10-4 and will face fellow Scot Graeme Dott in Round Two of the 2010 Betfred.com World Championship

Resuming at 6-3 down, after a poor first session, Stephen Lee stroked in a beautiful run of 95 to reduce his arreas.

But Maguire hit top gear in the next with 114 and followed it up with 67 to open a four frame buffer.

The Scot potted blue to black in frame thirteen and returned after the interval to close out the match with a run of 38.

Lee blamed his  lack of matches at the top level for his disappointing showing saying

"I played awful on the first three frames yesterday. I was short of match practice and not sharp and when you come here that shows up.

"I've been working hard. There's not enough matches to play. I'm not missing a ball for hours on end on the practice table but when you go out in matches it's a different ball game.

"I'm either hitting century breaks or not potting a ball. It's mental.

"I've just not been putting frames together. My long game's been in good shape which gives me the chance to score but I'm not sharp and it's lack of playing at the top level. If you miss anything at this level you can't get away with it."

A delighted Maguire looked ahead to an encounter with fellow Scot Graeme Dott.

"I'm delighted. I'm in the last 16 in the World.

"I was good in patches, pretty solid tonight. I felt I was going to score when I got in.

"I've got to touch up my safety, but if you're potting the balls it's not so important.

"It'll be tough against Graeme. He's back to how he was playing a few years ago.

"He had a great win against Ebdon. that was a tough match and he made it look easy.

"Whoever wins the match will be wishing the other the best. Hopefully one of the Scots can bring the title back.

"I think I've under achieved in my career. I try every year to win this tournament, but it's only the second round now, I'm not thinking about the trophy yet."
