Allen grabs slice of Crucible History
Mark Allen made the first 146 break ever seen at the Crucible.
Mark Allen's historic break came in frame six of his second match against Mark Davis.

A 146 is about as rare as hen's teeth in snooker, but remarkably this was Allen's second 146. He previously compiled the same break against Andrew Higginson in the 2007 UK Championship.
It was Mark Davis who'd started the match with a bang, taking the first two frames with runs of 62, 36 and 49.
Allen bounced back with 81 to take the third. Runs of 46 and 41 secured frame four and he went 3-2 up with 51 in the fifth.
Allen took the sixth with his 146 and went 5-2 up with an effort of 41.
Davis ran in 80 to take the last of the session.
Enter The Legend
Few matches have been so eagerly awaited as the six times Champion Steve Davis up against the current Champion John Higgins.

A truly awesome reception greeted Davis. A standing ovation and a mighty Crucible roar greeted the veteran onto the stage that he made his own in the 1980s.
Davis then proceeded to produce a truly inspired performance to carve out an unlikely 6-2 overnight lead over John Higgins.
It was the stuff of fairy tales as, after the first four frames were shared, Davis went on to win the next four, including a run of 102 in frame seven.
That was Davis' first ton of the season and his first at the Crucible since his first round match against John Parrott in 2007.
Higgins was far from his best, but that shouldn't take anything away from Davis' performance tonight, when he was playing to a staggering 95% pot success rate.
The second round matches are over three sessions, every player can have a bad session and come back from it, so it's far too early for Davis fans to get too excited or Higgins fans to cry into their haggis!
