Peter pots a pocket or two
Peter Ebdon dominated the opening day in Group Six of the Championship League with a high scoring display.
Peter Ebdon was at his imperious best at Crondon Park, as Group Six got underway in the Championship League.
From the start it was clear he was in superb form as he plundered breaks of 65, 66 and a brilliant 139 total clearance against a hapless Barry Hawkins.
He followed that with runs of 130 and 74 in beating Mark Williams.
Ebdon's only reverse of the day came against Jamie Cope. The Stoke man sat out breaks of 84 and 81 by Ebdon but battled back to win 3-2.
Ebdon rounded off an extremely satisfying day's work with a scintillating 141 total clearance against Joe Swail. He added breaks of 59 and 73 to complete a 3-1 victory in that match.
With 3 wins from 4 matches, Ebdon sits at the top of the table with three points and a satisfying £1,100 already banked.
Mark Williams, Mark Allen and Jamie Cope form the chasing pack, with two wins each on the board.
Play concludes on Thursday with the winner going through to the Winners' Group in March.
