Favourites fall in Pontin's
There have been shocks galore in both age groups at the Pontin's Junior Festival
One of the pre event favourites in the 15-20 age group, Liam Highfield, who is currently number one on the PIOS rankings, failed to get out of the minefield of the group stage of the event.
He was joined on the sidelines by leading English Junior International Kyren Wilson.
In the 14 and Under age group, both fancied title contenders, two times wnner, Shane Castle and English Under 14 Champion Oliver Lines, fell before the finishing line.
Scotland's 2009 Junior Pot Black winner Ross Muir, will contest the Under 14 age group final against Adam Bobat.
In the 15-20 group, Jamie Clarke, from Llanelli, a previous winner of the Under 12 in Pontin's has surprised many observers by making it through to the final.
He's up against one of the favourites though, as PIOS winner and Scotland International, Anthony McGill is also through.

Clarke beat PIOS finalist Farakh Ajaib in the quarter finals before knocking out the fancied Jordan Rimmer in the semi final.
McGill came through the tough top half of the draw beating fellow Scots Eden, Sharav and Michael Leslie, before knocking out English Internationals Mitchell Mann and Sam Craigie to book his place in the final.
Former professional Stephen Craigie was another casualty in the 15-20 knock out stage, beaten 3-1 by Nick Jennings in the Last 16.
Family honour was somewhat restored when younger brother Sam Craigie beat Jennings in the quarters.
Eighteen year old Phil Parkin from Kenilworth (pictured above) beat Alex Taubman in the Plate Final, the event for players who didn't qualify from the groups.
The highlight of the 3-1 victory was an excellent run of 78 in the second frame.
Thirteen year old Joseph McLaren from Glasgow, won the award for the best performance in the Plate by an Under 14 age group contestant.

Plate Final
Phil Parkin 3-1 Alex Taubman (19-61, 82(78)-28, 71-12, 63-32)
