| Notes: This match resumes on Monday morning. Gould succeeds in snatching the last frame and he'll probably now be the happier of the two players. Gould cracks in a ton to close to 5-3. He'd love to win the final frame now. It's a huge difference between 5-4 and 6-3. Marco Fu is looking better and better as the match develops. He's cueing sweetly and this is a thoroughly efficient performance this morning. Gould had a good chance to take the fifth frame. He potted a blinding yellow but didn't get position and Fu has cleared the colours. Fu cruises into a 3-1 lead at the interval. Gould opens his account with a 58 break. Good morning, welcome to a nice warm sunny Sheffield. Martin Gould looks resplendent in his asuithatfits.com suit but it's Marco Fu who gets his cue arm moving first with a silky break of 70. |
Notes: Gould holds his nerve to run in a match winning 90 break and is the first unseeded player into the last 16. Fu pots blue and pink to send us into a deciding frame. Gould extends his run to three frames and now takes a 9-8 lead. One frame needed for Gould to win, Marco needs to win the last two now. Gould has won two frames to level the match again. It's building towards a tense conclusion now. Fu has opened a two frame lead at a crucial stage of the match. A great break there to take him 8-6 ahead. And Gould levels again. This has the makings of a 10-9 either way. Fu regains the lead, winning a long scrappy frame. A blistering start by Martin Gould this morning. He's whacked in a century to level the match. |
