| Notes: Frame 9. At last the first session is officially finished! Mark King produced a frame-winning century, which has speeded things up a bit. Frame 8. Mark King levels the match again. McLeod tried in vain to get two snookers on the pink. Frame 7. McLeod has bossed this frame and gains a narrow lead, but this pair still have a lot of catching up to do. Even this frame has lasted 22 minutes. Frame 6. Mercifully for all a halt is called to proceedings after only six frames, three frames short of what they should have played. McLeod has levelled the match and they return on Sunday morning, and maybe afternoon and night if it continues at this pace! That frame lasted 54 minutes. Frame 5. The funereal pace continues, but McLeod has pulled a frame back. It's not what you'd call "sexy snooker" and that's no disrepect to the two fine physiques out on the table! Frame 4. King missed a pink when 58 ahead, but he got away with it, as McLeod failed to get the snooker he needed so it's 3-1 at the interval. It's slow going in this match so far! Frame 3. King wins the frame after McLeod squandered an early chance. Frame 2. Mark King has levelled, he's steamed through the frame with a 71 break to leave McLeod needing 4 snookers. Frame 1. Rory McLeod received a fabulous reception on his debut, from the Crucible crowd and they're cheering again as he clinches a cagey opener. |
Notes: Frame 16. McLeod's brave battle is over as King eventually clinched the frame on the pink, after rather luckily fluking a snooker on the brown. Frame 15. McLeod is fighting back. After a long wait to get back on the table, the Doha based cueman has powered through this frame, but he still needs to win four more back to back to complete a come back. Frame 14. King wins the frame to move within one of victory, but now they will have to wait until a table is available later tonight to conclude the match. Frame 13. King opened with 66 before missing frame ball red. McLeod pursued snookers, in vain. Frame 12. A torrid 43 minute frame goes to McLeod. This match has a very long way to go yet. It look certain that they'll get pulled off again and will have to come back for a late night final session when there's a table available Frame 11. I wonder if Mark King has broken McLeod's resistance now. A good 67 in that frame takes him three ahead. Frame 10. Mark King has put some daylight between him and McLeod. He opened that frame with 54 and got back in to put it beyond doubt with a 75 clearance. |
