     Notes:

Frame 9. The match takes a bit of a twist. Greene makes 55 to take the frame and he's now only 6-3 down overnight, he's still well in the match.

Frame 8. With little left to lose Greene suddenly finds his potting boots and smacks in 62.

Frame 7. The Captain flies on, it's looking like an unassiable lead now.

Frame 6. Carter has now totally thrown off the shackles and wins another frame in one visit, with a 91 break, to power into a 5-1 lead

Frame 5. I wonder what Terry Griffiths said to Ali during the interval, Carter has come out looking a totally different player. And that break of 89 is by far the highest of the match so far.

Frame 4. Another low scoring frame, but Green wins it to get a toe hold in the match.

Frame 3. Carter takes the third as well, still no decent break in this match, but he's getting the job done so far.

Frame 2. Carter makes 45 and Green can't mount any sort of comeback, so it's 2-0

Frame 1. Both players had chances, but not really clear cut scoring visits. Carter does enough to take the frame.
    Notes:

Frame 15. It's victory to last year's finalist. Carter  miscued on 33 but got back in and made no mistake in closing out the match.

Frame 14. Carter stands on the brink of victory now and Greene only has himself to blame. He missed a routine red on 48 and Carter came back from 71 behind. He ran out of position on 46 but Greene obliginly left the yellow hanging over a pocket and Carter cleared to black to pinch the frame.

Frame 13. Greene fires in a frame-winning break to leave himself 3 frames behind at the interval. It's not over yet.

Frame 12. Carter looks like he's weathered the storm from Greene. He's stroked in 68 to regain a four frame advantage.

Frame 11. It might easily have been 6-5 there, but Carter stole the frame on the black to go to 7-4. And that could be pivotal to the outcome of this match.

Frame 10. Gerard Greene starts in the best possible fashion, winning the first frame of the day to trail by only two now. That's much better than when he trailed 6-1 last night.
