After Ebdon's victory in China earlier in the month he will be bitterly disappointed to fall at the first hurdle here.

Frame 14. Nigel Bond now stands on the brink of victory. He's capitalised on misses from Ebdon. He's missed the odd ball himself but on the whole has played the more solid, particularly tonight.

Frame 13. What a body blow that could be for Ebdon. He held a good 56-30 lead before Bond stepped in with a 42 clearance to move 8-5 ahead.
