    Match Notes:

Frame 23. Hendry is through. Ding missed an easy red on 57, Hendry countered with 38 then snookered Ding on the green. Frm the leave he cleared green to black to clinch victory.

Frame 22. Ding digs deep with a brilliant 121 to keep his, and millions of Chinese, hopes alive.

Frame 21. Hendry puts another frame on the board with that 51 and he's just one frame from the quarter finals.

Frame 20. Ding halts the Hendry onslaught. He battled back from behind taking the last two reds. It's still well poised at 11-9 to Hendry at their last interval.

Frame 19. Stephen Hendry looks very strong now. Ding will have to find something quickly or the 7 times Champion is going to run away with this match.

Frame 18. Hendry is looking very good tonight, a fabulous 140 total clearance, which equals the high break held by O'Sullivan and 10-8 is a great scoreline for the Scot. Incidentally for the Stats fanatics amongst you, that was the 1000th frame Hendry has won at the Crucible and he did it in style

Frame 17. A nervy, rather scrappy frame is eventually won by Hendry who cleared from last red to the pink.

Frame 16. Ding has a won a titanic frame to level the match ahead of tonight's session. Hendry missed a black on 44 but Ding needed snookers on the red. Inexplicably Hendry went in off handing Ding the points he needed and the Chinese star cleared up to pinch it on the black.

Frame 15. Ding pounced on an early error by Hendry to fire in 87, the break ending when he failed to nudge the last two reds into a pottable position.

Frame 14. It took Hendry two visits, but the second chance did all the damage as Hendry compiles a century to add to his huge tally, Now he's got himself two frames in front and at worst knows he'll be level or ahead at the end of the session.

Frame 13. Wow what excitement. It finished with Hendry potting the black. He had opened with 61, broken down, let Ding in but he missed the black on 32 attempting to clear up to win by a point. Several shots and a lot of ooh's and aah's later, Hendry got the black.

Frame 12. What a big frame that was ahead of the interval. It swung back and for to either player before Hendry gritted his teeth and nailed it on the pink.

Frame 11. There's an absolutely fabulous 130 from Ding. This is building into a classic match now.

Frame 10. Hendry is back in business, a run of 65 brings him level again.

Frame 9. Good morning, welcome to the second session. Ding gets the morning off to a good start with a 53 break and he keeps Hendry, scoreless, in his chair

Frame 8. Ding does win the frame so it's all square after the first session.

Frame 7. Hendry has now won three frames in succession and takes the lead for the first time. One more to play this afternoon. Can Hendry push on to 5-3 or will Ding bounce back and leve the match. Of course in these best of 25 frame matches, there is plenty of time for either player to get back in the match should his opponent open an early lead. You can't win the match in this session, but some players in the past have gone a long way to losing it!

Frame 6. A trade mark Hendry dish there after Ding led by 50.

Frame 5. Hendry makes 63 to close the gap and this is building up nicely now, looks like being a very high quality match.

Frame 4. Hendry missed a red on 16 and Ding has punished him severly, cracking in 88 to lead 3-1 at the interval.

Frame 3. The first chance went to Ding but he fluffed it and let Hendry in, and the Scot has put together an excellent 91, before missing the brown for the clearance.

Frame 2. Ding looks to be right on his game this afternoon. A beautiful century to win the second and go 2 up.

Frame 1. First blood to Ding as he clears up with 59 to the pink after Hendry faltered on 34.

Good afternoon, welcome to the start of Round Two. The Chinese fans and media are massing again to see how Ding will get on today against Stephen Hendry.
