     Notes:

    Frame 9. Allen missed the yellow on 39, Gould produced a colours clearance to win the final frame of the session, but it looks to be far too little, much too late.

    Frame 8. Allen whistles in another break, this is exhibition snooker of the highest quality.

    Frame 7. There's a brilliant century from Mark Allen. It's really one way traffic now.

    Frame 6. Allen is flying now. A blur round the table to compile that 77.

    Frame 5. It looks like Allen's got this match by the scruff of the neck now. A couple of visits to win that frame and Gould is looking thoughtful.

    Frame 4. Allen gallops through the fourth frame to earn a 3-1 lead at the interval

    Frame 3. And Gould has got himself into the match now, a nice 71 break there.

    Frame 2. There's another 60+ break from Allen. Gould needs to get something going quickly otherwise Mark will bully him in this match.

    Frame 1. a bright start by both players. Gould had an early chance to settle the Crucible butterflies and made 49 before missing a red with the rest. Allen stepped in with a 69 clearance.

    Frame 16. Gould's Crucible dream is over for this year as eventually Allen shakes off his dogged opponent to win 10-6, closing out the match in style with 88.

    Frame 15. Gould pegs back another frame, a gutsy 68 keeps him in the match.

    Frame 14. Allen powers through the frame. A break of 84 did the damage and he only needs one more for victory.

    Frame 13. Allen stops the rot but he nearly threw the frame away. He missed a long red to the green pocket on 44, but this time Gould was unable to punish him.

    Frame 12. Gould is right back in the match now. Allen missed a red and Gould countered with a 74 break, his third frame-winning effort this morning.

    Frame 11. Now Gould is showing the Crucible crowd just what he's capable of. A fabulous 90 break wins him another frame.

    Frame 10. Martin Gould keeps his slim hopes alive with a nice 87 to start the day, after Allen broke down on 41.
