| Match Notes: Frame 19. Maguire sees off Mark King's gutsy battle and books himself into tomorrow's quarter finals Frame 18. A classy 65 moves Maguire within one frame of the quarter finals. Frame 17. A half hour tussle is resolved by Maguire slotting home the pink and he only needs two more for victory now. Frame 16. Maguire rounds off an efficient morning's work with a break of 54, which was enough to give him a 10-6 lead, having won 6 out of 8 frames today. Frame 15. Maguire got a kick on a red when cruising on 41. That didn't immediately lead to his downfall but King forced an error and cleared the colours and he's right in touch still. Frame 12. That's a lot more like the Maguire we're used to seeing. He's smacked in 83 there to take a two frame lead at the interval. Frame 11. That could be a big turning point in the match. King missed a red while going nicely on 60 and Maguire has stepped in with a 49 clearance to pinch the frame on the black. Frame 10. Maguire draws level again, winning a low scoring, scrappy frame. This match seems to be very low key at the moment and we're still waiting to see Maguire produce the form he's capable of. Frame 9. Good morning, welcome back to a dreary wet Sheffield today. But we're nice and warm and dry indoors and set for another day's amazing snooker. Mark King has scrapped his way through that frame. Maguire still looks half asleep! Frame 8. It's all square after the first session, as Maguire nips in for a 33 clearance from the last red. Frame 7. Maguire will rue losing position on 46. From thereon King had him tied up in all sorts of knots. He even snookered himself on the blue, but escaped and clinched the frame on the pink. Frame 6. Maguire quickly levels again, and that 79 is his best of the match so far. Frame 5. Mark King has capitalised on an error by Maguire on a run of 31. The Londoner has cleared with 61 to take the lead Frame 4. A run of 41 is enough for Mark King to level the scores at the interval. Frame 3. Maguire takes frame three with a couple of scoring visits. Frame 2. We haven't deserted you for a Sunday afternoon siesta. Frame two has been in play for 47 minutes already and there are still 2 reds left. Crashing applause as King disposes of the last two reds after 52 minutes play but the yellow is safe, so put the kettle on and settle down and get comfortable! The frame has now ticked over the one hour mark and they're doing battle on the brown now. This is now the longest ever frame played at the Crucible as the time ticks over to 1 hour 15 minutes! They're on the pink. and Maguire pots the black smack on 75 minutes! Frame 1. Good afternoon and welcome to the start of this intriguing Last 16 clash. It's a great start for Mark King who has smacked in 93 to win the opener. |
