Match Notes: Frame 18. Day wraps up his win and moves on to meet Mark Allen in the quarter finals. Frame 17. It's all smiles from both players as this match resumes. Day is enjoying a chat with the front row of the audience and Bond has a huge smile as he slots a long red. Day wins the frame to move within one frame of the winning line. Frame 16. Bond wins the last of the night with 44 to the pink. He's hung on tonight but at 11-5 behind he's got a mountain to climb tomorrow. Frame 15. Bond had a chance to pull another frame back but broke down on 33 and Day stepped in with 71. Frame 14. Nigel Bond ensures that there will be a final session in this match by winning that frame with an excellent 92 break. All the better for the fact that he's been sat in his chair most of the evening. Frame 13. Another one to Day despite Bond getting in first with 46. Day countered with 48 and then cleared the colours to make sure. Frame 12. At last Bond halts the Day charge, but it was Ryan's error, failing to roll up to the green and being forced to play out of his own self-imposed snooker, that gave Bond the chance. Frame 11. This is one way traffic now. Day is looking more and more confident and he's wrapped up that frame in one visit with a crunching century. Frame 10. Day puts another frame on the board. At this rate he could wrap the match up with a session to spare. Frame 9. A good start for Ryan to the second session as he crack in a 91 break. Frame 8. What a body blow to Bond. He got in first, made 60, lost position and Day fired in a red and went on to make a 74 clearance to steal it on the black. Frame 7. Day rattles in 47 and gets another chance and puts the frame beyond doubt. He's got clear water between himself and Bond now at 5-2 ahead and he'll take some sort of lead into the next session. |
